Botanical Dye Workshops

Colour created from plants and natural pigments.

About

I’m a natural dyer and textile artist based in St Leonards-on-Sea.

My work explores colour created from plants, natural pigments and food waste, with a focus on sustainability and a respect for the natural world. I work in a way that responds to the materials themselves, allowing each piece to develop slowly and in its own time.

My journey with natural dye began almost a decade ago in the Himalayas, where I was introduced to traditional plant dye techniques by a group of indigenous women who continue to practise ancient traditions of dyeing and weaving.

This experience shaped a slower, more intuitive way of working, rooted in observation and patience. It also marked the beginning of an ongoing learning process, one that continues to evolve through experience, curiosity and connection to the land.

Today, I facilitate botanical dye workshops that create space for people to come together through shared making. These sessions are as much about connection as they are about technique. Participants are encouraged to explore, experiment and learn from one another in an open and supportive environment, where knowledge is shared and creativity can unfold naturally.
